United Nations

The right to vote we are told that they fought hard to gain for us. I believe people deserve equal rights and that is a truth we should all aim for. One of the ways that individuals can influence governmental decision-making is through voting in parliamentary elections. But this includes millions of people sharing the same opinion as you. So, obviously, some are going to be disappointed. The right to vote has been added to by different governments slowly but surely over many, many, many years. It really shouldn’t have taken so long, but if we accept society as a basically stupid groups of individuals, we can understand.

Around the World they have decided whether they have no elections, mandatory or non-mandatory votes and this is the basic map (I didn’t create it, please go to the source – World Population review)

  • Afghanistan – Following the Taliban’s takeover in August 2021, elections are no longer held, and the future of political rights for Afghanistan’s voters remains uncertain.
  • Brunei – Brunei does not have national-level elections because it is an absolute monarchy ruled by the Sultan, where ultimate political authority rests with the monarch rather than a parliament or constitutionally elected government.
  • Eritrea – Eritrea has held no national elections since gaining independence from Ethiopia in 1993 due to a total concentration of power under a militarized, one-party totalitarian regime. The ruling People’s Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ), led by President Isaias Afwerki (in power since 1991/1993), is the only legal political party allowed to exist.
  • Saudi Arabia – Saudi Arabia’s absolute monarchy restricts almost all political rights and civil liberties. No officials at the national level are elected. The government of Saudi Arabia is led by King Salman, who acceded to the throne on 23 January 2015. No political parties or national elections are permitted.
  • South Sudan – South Sudan hasn’t held national elections since its 2011 independence due to recurring cycles of armed conflict and political stalling.
  • Vatican City – Vatican City does not hold public, democratic elections because it is an elective absolute monarchy and a theocracy, where governance is rooted in religious leadership and ancient tradition rather than civic democracy. Executive, legislative, and judicial power reside entirely in the office of the Pope (the Bishop of Rome), who acts as the sovereign head of state.

Now, I am going to upset some people by saying that Mandatory voting is basically forcing someone to do something. Then the 27 who force, some of them also fine the individuals who did not. Saying it’s illegal (unless you pay them). Does this sound a bit morally wrong or compromised? When you force someone to do something, against their will and ‘punish’ them for not doing it… isn’t that kind of bullying and very close to slavery? I know, being dramatic, and yes we very rarely get good government systems that actually care about all people. Then bureaucracy has made it so that a small group of employees feel a powerful urge to treat people as if they are scum. Yes, problem with humans and power, it makes them into uncontrollable monsters. We call it ‘Government’ and hope the power hunger doesn’t turn so bad that they start executing people for forgetting to mow the front yard. The smaller the section of government, the worse their power hungry minds get.

I can tell you some tales from Australian Bureaucracy that would turn your hair white. I’ve worked in every section of the government levels and they are cut throat power hungry bastards.

  • Councils are basically like walking into a zombie apocalypse. Everyone will try behead you because they don’t know you. The workers are a bunch of power hungry narcissists without reason. You say good morning and they think you are trying to take their job. You try to explain that their job is not very important to anyone, least of all you, and they will have a vendetta on you. I actually had a girl one day try ush me down the stairs. She was a fucking receptionist! I didn’t want her job! I didn’t even want mine, if truth be told! These were the kindergarten of psychos, then I went to the major leagues…
  • I made my way into State Government. Okay, now some of these guys aren’t the craziest of arseholes. But there are a lot of them that are. Flipping hell. The first one, being smaller was still full of the crazy egotists but less than the council. The second one was terrifying. I have never seen a building so full of Sociopaths! It was like being in high school again. The problem with fully grown sociopaths, if that some turn into real psychopaths. I was literally scared for my safety. I tried to reason with them, I tried to talk with them like a sane adult and they either couldn’t understand or were so hopped up on power dreams that they thought they could treat a person terribly and not be reported. They then got shocked that there was a government on the outside to make sure they didn’t behave that way??? In State Government I did exceptional work and they kept belittling me even if I saved them over 100 grand in money as I had created an automated system to do their jobs for them. I didn’t even get a card saying thanks for all their arses I had saved from the fire.
  • Okay, worked for a couple of Premier and Cabinet places around Australia. The elected officials are generally pretty easy going. Unless of course it’s an election year. Then they are bat shit crazy. But otherwise, once elected tend to become calm cows rather than bulls. They send back the letter you wrote for them with suggestions and don’t call you names or use abusive language. You write a speech for them and they ask for your opinion, they don’t think you are a threat, so they become docile. All the creatures from State and Council workplaces are constantly looking for threats, but the higher up and they are much calmer because they know how much work it is to get from your position to theirs.
  • The calmest and most accepting is the commonwealth. They are above the Minister, Premiers and power elite. They look at the whole country and work on whatever they need to. It’s much easier and much less hostile. Of course there are office politics, but less cut throat. Actually these guys wouldn’t be able to do anything too cruel or hard to save their lives. I don’t mean to be harsh here, but a co-worker once called it toxic positivity. I said “Well if I got hit by a bus, you’ll need to know this.”

I immediately got my boss wincing and saying very gently, “We don’t say that, we say instead, ‘If you won the lottery’”

I love the place, I feel like I am no longer battling. It is peaceful and they appreciate my hard work.

So, the truth is that power struggles are at most levels. As a non-native Australian I believe the government is rotting from the bottom upwards. I don’t know how long it will take. I hope I die before the Commonwealth gets corrupted, but honestly, I see the struggles with the United Nations and believe a reverse rotting may happen if the rest of the world cannot start correcting the problem. The problem I am talking about is the United States having a stupidity meltdown and electing a problematic orange skinned, old, narcissistic man with obvious dementia from destroying their country. Let’s, talk about the greed and corruption it took to allow that swing and miss?

America, the world is laughing at you. Most dictators or monsters which cause world wide destruction are due to power, poverty and war, yours was caused by greed. It hasn’t even given you what you were promised! He is sinking you further into debt. Your children’s, children’s, children’s, children will still be paying it off before even a dent is made in it. You are fucked. He’s leading you into greater chaos, yet you keep electing him because he promises to pay to get you to elect him… where do you think the money is coming from sweethearts? He doesn’t spend his own money. Nope, it’s off of your back breaking labour and the food you feed to your children. You cause the hell you’ve sown.

Then the whole world is laughing at him. Do you not have any ability to see your amazing and proud history and feel that what is happening now is a blight on your very patriotism? The worst is that the world is joining in on the joke, the amount of fun that world leaders have belittled the egomaniac with is hilarious. It’s becoming like the news is a comedy show. I often used to look at American history with a very reverent view point as I respected the leaders and struggles. But this single error, I feel, has set America back to being a tiny colony without any credibility. It’s a joke, a nothing, a sad pathetic power-hungry flea doing tricks in a circus, led by a four year old child still in diapers.

The reason I bring this up is because they for some reason are one of the leading countries of the United Nations. Yes, the United Nations don’t have any power any more, but they should. I don’t mean this as a funny thing. They should have power.

This is why I was describing what happens to lower levels until you get to Commonwealth in Australia. The United Nations is the same. The higher the power, the less it’s meant to be corruptible.

The five United Nations powers which hold primary authority over international peace and security and possess individual veto power over substantive Council resolutions;

  • China
  • France
  • Russia
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

When the United Nations was established in 1945 to replace the failed League of Nations, the creators designed a core group of powerful nations to oversee global peace and security. Known as the “Big Five” or Permanent Five (P5), this group included China, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, and France.

Why do they still hold power? Lets have a quick look?

  • China – 3
    • Financing – China is the second-largest contributor to the UN regular budget (assessed at roughly 20%) and a major contributor to the UN peacekeeping budget.
    • Peacekeeping – China is the largest supplier of peacekeeping troops and police among the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.
    • Specialized Agencies – Chinese nationals have headed major UN bodies over the years—such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO)
  • France – 4
    • Financial Contributor – France ranks as the 6th-largest contributor to both the UN’s regular budget (providing millions annually) and its peacekeeping operations budget.
    • Global Diplomatic & Normative Role – France uses its position to champion human rights (inspired by the 1948 Universal Declaration), push for climate action (having hosted COP21 and helped adopt the Paris Agreement), and advocate for Security Council and veto reforms.
    • Peacekeeping and Aid – France deploys military personnel to UN peacekeeping missions and contributes heavily to humanitarian and peacebuilding funds (such as the UN Peacebuilding Fund).
    • Historical & Global Reach – As a historic Allied power with sovereign territories spanning multiple continents and a vast diplomatic network, France acts as a bridge between Western powers and developing nations.
  • Russia – 3
    • Sovereignty Advocate – Russia champions a strict interpretation of state sovereignty and non-interference, making it a valuable diplomatic shield for governments facing Western sanctions or isolation.
    • Nuclear Superpower – Russia and the United States together possess roughly 90% of the world’s nuclear weapons, giving Moscow foundational leverage in global strategic stability discussions.
    • Global Resource and Security Reach – As a major exporter of energy, commodities, and military hardware, and through its active diplomatic missions in America.
  • United Kingdom – 6
    • Budget Contributions: The UK is one of the top overall financial contributors to the UN system. It provides billions in assessed and voluntary funding to core agencies like UNICEF, the World Food Programme (WFP), and the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
    • Global Procurement – The UK ranks as a major supplier of goods and services to the UN particularly pharmaceuticals and vaccines for UNICEF.
    • Crisis Management – The UK frequently acts as a “penholder” on key geopolitical crises, drafting resolutions and leading diplomatic negotiations within the Security Council.
    • Peacekeeping Operations – The UK contributes military personnel, funding, and strategic planning capabilities to UN peacekeeping and stabilization missions globally (such as in Cyprus and the Democratic Republic of Congo).
    • Global Reach & Alliances – The UK enhances its UN influence through membership in overlapping international networks, including NATO, the G7/G8, the Commonwealth, and historical diplomatic ties.
    • Historical – The UK was a primary architect of the Atlantic Charter (1941), helped lay the groundwork for the UN’s creation, and hosted the very first UN General Assembly session in London in 1946.
  • United States – 2
    • Financial – The U.S. is one of the largest financial contributors to the UN, historically covering roughly 22% of the UN regular budget and a large share of peacekeeping costs, which helps fund global humanitarian, health, and development missions.
    • Headquarters and Economic Impact – Hosting the UN headquarters in New York City generates billions of dollars in local economic output, creates thousands of jobs, and turns the city into a global diplomatic hub.
    • NOT HELPING POINTS: All the rest are United States granted leniencies of the United nations, no giving, just taking;
      • Strategic and Soft Power Leverage: Being at the center of the UN gives Washington a global platform to build coalitions, advance foreign policy, monitor international developments, and exercise strategic leverage (such as visa control over foreign delegations).
      • Leadership in Agencies: American personnel and leadership have historically shaped key UN-affiliated and specialized agencies like UNICEF, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the World Food Programme (WFP).

So over all what do we have? Logically…

Anyone else seeing a flaw here? There is one, taking more than they are giving? Actually it seems as if taking is against the United Nations and yet this one single country seems to not pay attention to it? Aybe don’t take all the recognition for good works when it is literally a UN effort? Maybe don’t say you are the leader behind very important UN benefits, just because you funded a fraction?

The United Staes taking congratulations for contributing 22% well, we have 197 countries. The five majors who each contribute a larger share would well round out to more… You are not the World Boss idiots! Seriously, okay, I am not being cruel here, but introduce some more bosses. We can make up America’s share.

Looking at this Japan, even with the struggles during WW2 should be considered a leading power to the current 5. Germany has made significant contributions as well. Let’s take it as restitutions as Japan has from WW2. But come on guys, they have contributed a lot. They combined make most of America’s share and do not resent being excluded from the security council. While I’m not saying to drop America entirely, maybe make them a smaller member? We can find the security council with others. Until they get their shit together, better to show strength. That excludes America for now… Budget and military wise.

So 5.5% for budget to make up America… as the current power, come on world leaders, think you can do that? Not hard, think we can take a bit there and another there. You guys can make the UN your home? Get some security? Japan, Germany, you know you want that war faux pas forgotten about? Lets have a American power struggle over party and you’ll be forgiven?

Oh sorry, guys forgot why I was writing this, also make Australian voting non mandatory. I really hate voting for a diaper wearing, snotty nosed politician who thinks their role actually has meaning in the outside world. Please put them in their place…

Totally forgot lol my bad
