Treehouse of Horror I – 1990 – S02E03

Bart tells a story where the Simpsons move into a haunted house built on a Native American burial ground. After the house is told off by Marge, it chooses to destroy itself rather than live with the Simpsons.

In Bart’s other story, the Simpsons are abducted by Kang and Kodos to be taken to the planet Rigel IV for a feast. Lisa is suspicious of the aliens’ intentions, believing that the Simpsons themselves are being cooked. When her trust is misplaced, the offended aliens return the family to Earth.

Lisa retells the poem by Edgar Allan Poe, in which Homer appears as the poem’s narrator and Bart is the raven.

Treehouse of Horror II – 1991 – S03E07

In Lisa’s nightmare (“The Monkey’s Paw”), the Simpsons visit Morocco and find a monkey’s paw that makes all their wishes come true – with dire consequences. Homer eventually gives the paw to Ned, who improves his home.

In Bart’s nightmare (“The Bart Zone”), the town of Springfield must think happy thoughts or suffer the powers of Bart’s twisted imagination. Dr. Marvin Monroe prescribes that Homer should spend quality time together. As this happens, Bart wakes from his dream, horrified.

In Homer’s nightmare (“If I Only Had a Brain”), Mr. Burns transplants Homer’s brain into a robot to create a super-efficient worker. The robot remains as incompetent and inefficient as regular Homer, and Burns restores Homer’s brain to his body. Homer wakes after Burns is accidentally crushed by the robot, and finds Burns’ head is grafted on his shoulder.

Treehouse of Horror III – 1992 S04E05

In Lisa’s story, Homer buys Bart a Krusty doll which turns out to be evil and tries to kill Homer.

In Grampa’s story, a King Kong parody, Mr. Burns decides to hire Marge Bouvier to trap an ape who looks like Homer.

In Bart’s story, Bart discovers an occult book and tries to use one of the spells to bring back the family cat, but instead, he accidentally summons a horde of zombies.

Treehouse of Horror IV – 1993 – S05E05

Homer sells his soul to the Devil (Ned Flanders) for a doughnut.

While riding the bus to school, Bart discovers that there is a Gremlin on the side of the bus.

The Simpsons are invited to a dinner with Mr. Burns, where Bart and Lisa discover that Mr. Burns is a vampire.

Treehouse of Horror V – 1994 – S06E06

A parody of the 1980 Movie The Shining, in which Homer tries to kill the rest of the family after Mr. Burns cuts off the beer supply and cable TV in his winter home.

A parody of “A Sound of Thunder”; While attempting to fix it, Homer creates a time machine out of his toaster.

To solve the problems of overcrowded detention and lack of meat, the Springfield Elementary teachers resort to eating the students.

Treehouse of Horror VI – 1995 – S07E06

An ionic storm brings Springfield’s oversized advertisements and billboards to life and they begin attacking the town.

In a parody of the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies, Groundskeeper Willie attacks schoolchildren in their sleep to get revenge on the parents who did not save him when he burned to death.

While finding a hiding place while preparing for an upcoming visit from Patty and Selma, Homer steps into a portal behind a bookcase that takes him into a 3D world.

Treehouse of Horror VII – 1996 – S08E01

Bart discovers he has an evil twin, who is living in the Simpsons’ attic.

After intending to prove that sugary drinks will rot teeth, Lisa creates her own miniature universe.

Kang and Kodos impersonate presidential candidates Bill Clinton and Bob Dole in order to invade Earth.

Treehouse of Horror VIII – 1997 – S09E04

After the French strike Springfield with a nuclear bomb, Homer discovers that he is the only one who survived the attack, until mutants come after him.

Bart uses Professor Frink’s teleporter to turn himself into a fly.

In a 1600s Puritan town, Marge is accused of being a witch, which turns out to be true. She flees to her sisters’ cave, where the three become the inventors of Halloween.

Treehouse of Horror IX – 1998 – S10E04

Homer gets a hair transplant from Snake Jailbird, who was sentenced to death after breaking the city’s three-strikes law. Snake’s spirit possesses Homer through the hair, forcing Homer to kill the people who witnessed against Snake after his final crime, including Bart.

When Lisa and Bart find a plutonium rod to use as a remote control battery, the two get sucked into a special, extremely violent Halloween episode of The Itchy & Scratchy Show.

Marge, Homer, and Kang end up on The Jerry Springer Show after Marge confesses to Homer that Maggie is an alien and that Kang is her real father.

Treehouse of Horror X – 1999 – S11E04

In this parody of I Know What You Did Last Summer, the Simpsons accidentally run over and kill Ned Flanders, and end up getting away with murder — until someone (or something) haunts them with claims that he witnessed the crime.

Bart and Lisa gain super powers (Bart gains the ability to stretch while Lisa becomes super-strong) after a freak accident during a candy inspection on Halloween Night in the Springfield Elementary School gym and must save Lucy Lawless (dressed as Xena) from the Collector (Comic Book Guy).

After Homer forgets to make all the computers at the nuclear plant Y2K-compliant, the Y2K bug spreads to every computer and electronic device in the world, causing a technological apocalypse.

Treehouse of Horror XI – 2000 – S12E01

Homer as a wandering spirit on the hunt for a good deed,

Bart and Lisa as Hansel and Gretel in a fairy tale forest.

Lisa inadvertently dooming mankind by rescuing a dolphin who tries to take over the town.

Treehouse of Horror XII – 2001 – S13E01

While on a day trip through Ethnictown, Homer’s bumbling catches the ire of a gypsy, who curses Homer’s family and friends into receiving nothing but bad luck.

In this mixed parody of Demon Seed and 2001: A Space Odyssey, Marge buys an automated house and customizes it with the Pierce Brosnan personality, who falls for Marge and attempts to murder Homer.

In this Harry Potter parody, Bart and Lisa go to a school for wizards, and Lord Montemort (Mr. Burns) uses Bart to capture Lisa’s magic.

Treehouse of Horror XIII – 2002 – S14E01

Homer buys a hammock that can produce clones of himself. He creates numerous clones to help him around the house, but they soon overrun Springfield.

Lisa petitions the town to get rid of their firearms after discovering the gravestone of a young man named William Bonney who died from gun violence. However, Lisa soon discovers that William Bonney is the real name of Western outlaw Billy the Kid, whose undead corpse, along with Frank James, Jesse James, the Sundance Kid, and Kaiser Wilhelm II, takes over the defenseless town.

Dr. Hibbert invites the citizens of Springfield to his island resort, where he turns them into animals.

Treehouse of Horror XIV – 2003 – S15E01

Homer enjoys his new life as The Grim Reaper after killing the old one and plaguing the world with immortality, but becomes conflicted when Marge is next on his death list.

Professor Frink wins the Nobel Prize in science, but is sad that his dead father is not with him to share in his success, so Frink rebuilds him out of his father’s real body with mechanical parts, but the latter is not happy with this and he will steal the body parts of other corpses.

Bart and Milhouse order a stopwatch from the back of a comic book that possesses the power to manipulate time.

Treehouse of Horror XV – 2004 – S16E01

Ned Flanders suffers a head injury that gives him the power to foresee doom a la Christopher Walken from The Dead Zone.

Lisa and Bart investigate the murders of Victorian-era England’s most prolific prostitutes.

The Simpsons go on a fantastic voyage through Mr. Burns’s body to rescue Maggie after she gets shrunk down into a pill and ingested.

Treehouse of Horror XVI – 2005 – S17E04

Bart falls into a coma after trying to jump into the swimming pool at Patty and Selma‘s apartment complex. With Bart incapacitated, the Simpsons buy a robot son, who proves to be a better son than Bart ever was, leaving the real Bart to befriend a group of traveling robots.

Mr. Burns hunts down Homer and a small collection of male ancillary characters as part of a new reality show called “The World Series of Manslaughter.”

After she loses a Halloween costume contest, a witch turns the townspeople into their Halloween costumes, and Lisa (who is now Albert Einstein) finds out that Maggie (who is dressed as a witch) is the key to revert the spell.

Treehouse of Horror XVII – 2006 – S18E04

Homer eats a mysterious green substance from a meteorite landing that turns him into a giant blob with an insatiable, cannibalistic appetite.

Bart discovers a golem backstage at Krusty’s show and uses it to do his bidding.

After being fooled by H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds, the citizens of Springfield in 1938 ignore a real alien invasion set up by Kang and Kodos.

Treehouse of Horror XVIII – 2007– S19E05

In this send-up of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Bart finds Kodos (who is hiding from the government) and helps her obtain devices to contact her home planet, but Kodos’ intentions are proven to be murderous.

In this send-up of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Homer lives a double life as a government assassin, but discovers that Marge is one too and must eliminate her after she botched his attempt at assassinating Kent Brockman.

In this send-up of Seven Footprints to Satan, Ned Flanders turns the church into a Heck House and asks God for devilish powers so he can teach the children the consequences of committing the seven deadly sins.

Treehouse of Horror XIX – 2008 – S20E04

In this light parody of Transformers, Lisa gets a Malibu Stacy car that turns into a robot bent on fighting the mortal enemy of his race (more transforming robots).

After accidentally killing Krusty the Clown over the destruction of a daycare mural that used his image without his express permission, Homer is hired by two ad agents who have discovered a legal loophole in using celebrity likenesses in their advertising campaigns.

In this parody of It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Milhouse summons a demon pumpkin, who goes berserk when he discovers that humans carve his brethren into jack-o-lanterns as Halloween tradition.

Treehouse of Horror XX – 2009 – S21E04

Lisa conspires with Bart to get revenge on their teachers after Ms. Hoover sends Lisa to detention. However, when Bart kills Hoover, but Lisa does not kill Mrs. Krabappel, he tries to blackmail her. To stop him, Lisa chases Bart with a knife until she declares she is not a murderer. She throws the knife away, but it flies back and kills Bart.

Krusty the Clown introduces a new hamburger made from cows that have eaten other cows. The burgers turn the townsfolk into zombies, but the Simpsons have survived. When they learn Bart is immune, the family make their way to a safe zone to develop a cure. Upon arrival, Bart is made to bathe in people’s food to gain immunity.

Moe creates a new beer that becomes a sensation thanks to Homer being impaled on the microbrew machine and bleeding into the beer supply. Moe tries to woo Marge by saying Homer left her, but Homer returns and hurls Moe away to reunite with Marge.

Treehouse of Horror XXI – 2010 – S22E04

Bart and Milhouse get trapped inside a cursed board game.

Homer and Marge suspect a castaway of being a murderer.

Lisa falls for a preteen of the night.

Treehouse of Horror XXII – 2011 – S23E03

Homer finds himself paralyzed by a spider bite and discovers a new, smelly way to communicate.

Flanders gets a call from God to rid the world of sinners by murdering them,

Bart and Milhouse must infiltrate an alien planet by posing as the natives in the Avatar parody.

Treehouse of Horror XXIII – 2012 – S24E02

Professor Frink’s Subatomic Supercollider releases a black hole that Lisa takes in as a pet – and the hole ends up sucking up all matter thanks to everyone using it as a waste disposal unit.

In this parody of the Paranormal Activity movies, a collection of video clips shows demonic activity in the Simpsons’ house late at night – which may have something to do with Marge’s deal with the Devil she made years ago.

In this light parody of the Back to the Future Movie franchise, Bart steals Professor Frink’s time-traveling car and heads to 1974 so he can buy a Radioactive Man comic at cover price (25 cents instead of the present-day price of $200), but his visit into the past alters the future and leads Marge to marry her first prom date, Artie Ziff.

Treehouse of Horror XXIV – 2013 – S25E02

In this twisted parody of Dr. Seuss’ children’s books, Homer abducts Bart, Lisa, and Maggie and rides around Springfield wreaking havoc as “The Fat in the Hat”.

In this parody of The Thing with Two Heads, after Bart is decapitated during a kite accident, his head is attached to Lisa’s body and the two must live together as one — until Bart discovers that he can fully function whenever Lisa is asleep, and sets out to incapacitate her so he can have her body.

In this parody to the 1932 horror movie, Freaks, Homer and Marge are circus performers (a strong man and a trapeze artist respectively) with Burnsum and Bailey, and Homer has a plan to marry Marge off to a circus freak (Moe) so he can rob him of an emerald ring.

Treehouse of Horror XXV – 2014 – S26E04

Bart and Lisa find a desk carved with an Aramaic incantation that sends them to Hell – and Bart fits in at the school there.

Moe leads a Clockwork Orange-style gang, but one of his droogs (Homer) falls for a woman (Marge) and gives up life as a thug.

The Simpsons are haunted by their former selves from The Tracey Ullman Show – and Homer falls for the older Marge, angering the current Marge.

Treehouse of Horror XXVI – 2015 – S27E05

Sideshow Bob finally kills Bart. However, without the joy of hunting him, Bob reanimates him to repeatedly kill him.

In a parody of Godzilla, when Grampa no longer drops donuts into the sea, Homer, as a sea monster, emerges and destroys the city.

Lisa and Milhouse get superpowers from radiation. When Milhouse abuses them for selfish purposes, Maggie, who also gained powers, kills him and makes the world a better place.

Treehouse of Horror XXVII – 2016 – S28E04

Mr. Burns makes the children fight to the death for a day in his personal reservoir. Lisa convinces them to fight back against Burns, but they end up destroying the reservoir.

Lisa’s imaginary friend kills her real friends, so she can be her only friend. Lisa uses her imagination to give her imaginary friend a miserable life, which causes her to leave.

Bart is recruited to Moe’s group of secret barfly agents replace Homer, who was killed. They investigate a company that bought all the beer in the world and learn that the head of the company is Homer. The agents fight Homer, and Bart kills him.

Treehouse of Horror XXVIII – 2017 – S29E04

Maggie is possessed by Pazuzu, a vengeful demon. Before he is killed, Ned Flanders says she needs an exorcism. A priest removes it from Maggie, and after jumping into Bart, the demon says he is more evil that it is.

Lisa discovers an alternate reality where the Simpsons are nicer but have buttons for eyes. She chooses to stay there by exchanging her eyes for buttons. When they notice Lisa is missing, the rest of the Simpsons follow her to the alternative reality, but Homer accidentally kills some alternate Simpsons. He decides to bring everyone back to live in the prime reality.

While grilling a hot dog, Homer accidentally cuts off his finger and cooks it. He decides to eat it and starts cooking more of his body because he likes the taste. Mario Batali offers to cook the rest of his body to serve in his restaurants.

Treehouse of Horror XXIX – 2018 – S30E04

The townsfolk buy a new version of a smart phone created by a plant alien. Distracted, they do not notice when the alien’s planet sends spores that replace everyone with plant versions of themselves. The originals wake up on the alien planet where they continue to use smart phones.

Lisa, suffering from dissociative identity disorder, begins killing Bart’s friends. To prevent himself from being killed, Bart says he loves her, and she returns to normal.

Mr. Burns opens a retirement home that helps the elderly feel better by mixing their DNA with dinosaur DNA. However, when Homer raises the temperature in Grampa’s room, they turn into dinosaurs. Burns is killed, and the Simpson family escapes from the elderly.

Treehouse of Horror XXX – 2019 – S31E04

In the 1980s, Milhouse Van Houten is kidnapped by a monster. He contacts Lisa and says he is in another dimension. Lisa travels there and frees Milhouse. While escaping, Lisa uses her psychic powers to fight the monsters until Homer rescues them. However, they are trapped in the other dimension.

Homer chokes on a hot dog and dies. Learning he died too early, he is allowed to return to Earth in the body of someone who died. He returns in the body of a football player. After immediately ruining his new body, he jumps into Superintendent Chalmers’ body, but he also dies. Homer continues to switch bodies until Marge makes him stop. He chooses Moe’s body as the final one since he also loves Marge.

At the power plant, Selma finds Kang, whom Mr. Burns wants to dissect. They fall in love and escape. Burns and the military chase them until Kodos arrives in a spaceship. They kill Burns and the soldiers. Patty asks Selma not to go, but she falls in love with Kodos, so they all fly into space together.

Treehouse of Horror XXXI – 2020 – S32E04

Bart tortures his toys. As revenge, Bart is killed by his surviving toys, and they turn his body into a toy. Then, they play with his corpse.

Homer mistakes a machine at the nuclear plant for a vending machine. When he inserts a coin into it, it explodes, and multiple different versions of himself from different dimensions come through a portal. Lisa says the explosion caused a hole in the space-time continuum, and Homer needs to recreate it to fix it. Mr. Burns tries to stop him with other versions of Burns and Smithers until he sees a version where Burns is Smithers’ assistant. Homer then sends them all home.

Lisa gets stuck in a time loop on her ninth birthday in which she dies each time. With Nelson’s help, they stop the loop by killing Gil.

Treehouse of Horror XXXII – 2021 – S33E03

Bart becomes a tutor for a rich girl. The other family members also get jobs at the estate, supplanting the Van Houtens. Soon, the city erupts into a class-driven riot, with only the Simpsons surviving.

Homer chops down the tree in the backyard. The tree trunk is struck by lightning and becomes alive. Learning that people chop down trees for Christmas, it brings other plants to life, and they kill the townsfolk.

The schoolchildren watch a video that kills anyone who watches it. When they die, Lisa and Bart investigate. They learn that the video is haunted by a girl who did not receive any valentines and died falling down a well. Lisa summons the girl and gives her a valentine. They become friends until Lisa annoys her, and she jumps down the well.

Treehouse of Horror XXXIII – 2022 – S34E06

Marge reads Maggie a storybook about a monster that feeds on people’s rage and is released by reading the book itself. Marge burns the book but becomes possessed by the monster after breathing the smoke. She chases Maggie, but Maggie touches her cheek, which releases the smoke. Marge traps the smoke with a vacuum cleaner.

Lisa finds a tome that will kill anybody whose name is written in it if the manner of death is different each time. A shinigami tells Lisa she will enjoy using the book. When Mr. Burns’ new company plans to accelerate climate change, she uses the book to kill him and anyone else at the company who wants to do so. Bart learns what Lisa is doing. Lisa is tempted to kill him, but she kills the shinigami instead. However, Lisa becomes a shinigami in its place.

In an amusement park based on The Simpsons, robot versions of the Simpson family become self-aware. They attempt to flee the park and destroy anything in their way. When they escape, they discover other parks based on other animated television shows.

Treehouse of Horror XXXIV – 2023 – S35E05

Bart is accidentally digitized into a non-fungible token. Marge enters the digital realm to rescue him. Though she manages to rescue Bart, Homer digitizes himself to live the good life as a valuable NFT until the market crashes leaving him worthless and trapped.

In an alternate outcome of the episode “Cape Feare”, Sideshow Bob has killed Bart, and Lisa grows up to become a criminal psychology teacher. The police bring Lisa to help when a series of murders of her first-born childhood friends occurs. When footage shows Lisa killing Nelson and she is sent to prison, Lisa reveals to Bob that she developed a split-personality that committed the murders to allow her to get close him. She kills Bob in the same way that he killed Bart.

Eating a radioactive doughnut causes Homer’s burps to infect everyone with his DNA, turning them into versions of him. His children are immune, but they fail to convince Homer to help find a cure even when it infects Marge. Instead, he finds the new Marge attractive, and the infection takes over the world.

Treehouse of Horror XXXV – 2024 – S36E05

Bart and Lisa find themselves having to put their differences aside as built up political divisiveness and rage manifests as two giant monsters and it is up to the Simpson siblings to save Springfield.

On the day after Thanksgiving, Victorian-era Mr. Burns becomes a victim of his own greed and cruelty as the dead workers from his corn syrup factory rise up and seek revenge on their former boss.

In a parody of Venom, Homer comes into contact with a pair of sentient extraterrestrial denim pants that quickly bond with him, only to refuse to leave him when he needs it the most.

Treehouse of Horror XXXVI – 2025 – S37E03

“Jaws” meets “The Blob” from 1970s. It will see two characters being killed off when a monster created from sentient lard, named the “fatburg,” takes over Springfield. First, Chief Wiggum is killed, but the big death is Bart Simpson, who, it’s revealed, is drained of all his lard and dies. 1970s Springfield is menaced by a grease monster that feeds on human fat.

Krusty makes a deal with the devil on his live Halloween special. It will be the parody of the Australian 2024 supernatural horror film, “Late Night With The Devil”.

In this parody of “Waterworld”, in a poseable plastic post-apocalyptic future, Bart and Lisa fight for the future of humanity.

Treehouse of Horror Presents:

Not It – 2022 – S34E05

Young Homer sees a clown, Krusto, as he is attacked by bullies. Another group protects Homer and drives the bullies away. They share stories of their encounters with Krusto and learn he appears every twenty-seven years to kill children. Meanwhile, Homer writes a love note to Marge. When they watch an old video of Krusto on television, he comes out of it and tries to kill Comic Book Guy. They go to the television station to kill Krusto, but he escapes. Marge thinks the note is from Comic Book Guy, and they kiss.

Twenty-seven years later, Homer learns Krusto has returned. Marge, married to Comic Book Guy, goes to help, but he is reluctant to go. Marge’s children are kidnapped by Krusto. They return to the television station. Krusto reveals that Comic Book Guy did not write the love note. Marge deduces that Homer wrote the note. They learn they need to destroy the laughter sign to kill Krusto. Comic Book Guy sacrifices himself so Marge can destroy the sign. Krusto dies, and the group leaves with Homer and Marge holding hands.

Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes – 2024 – S36E07

A 1950s Bart hears what he thinks are the screams of a woman buried alive in the woods only to discover nobody will believe him.

A retro-future version of Superintendent Chalmers is convinced by Carl to use a replacement robot duplicate of himself to avoid spending time with Skinner.

Homer is part of a law enforcement team set in a police-state future Springfield where consuming any media that isn’t considered as prestige television is illegal.
