When my brain is left without anything to focus on, well, I get random thoughts to ponder, here are a couple that come up continuously;

1. Do tone-deaf people not know that they are singing badly, or do they really want the people around them to suffer? I mean, the reason you speak loudly is so people can hear you, or you want people to pay attention, so singing (and it’s always loud, don’t understand why) might just be their cry for help? Should we start a support system where each time they start singing we have a roster of people who will pat them on the head and tell them how special they are?
2. Why are humans the only species that cry due to emotion? I don’t see the benefit. I kind of think that it might be based from when we were babies, when we cried we got what we wanted and we seem to think that crying now will continue to function like this as an adult? Oh, you didn’t get a promotion, because you lacked the qualifications… Obviously crying, rather than getting the qualifications will work…

3. Why do companies keep making decisions that their consumers dislike and then they complain that their prime source of profits have gone away? Do they not see the link or are they just incredibly stupid? E.g. Raise price and give smaller quantity, then lose 70% of customers, so to get them back we’re going to increase the price even more! Bet that will get them to come running back!

4. Are most adults no longer able to read more than five words in a row? They seem to really struggle with paragraphs. I don’t know if this is an education problem, everyone has come down with dyslexia or maybe just laziness but I can’t email people important information unless it’s in dot point format or they will just ignore it or not pay attention. Really can be dangerous as soon people won’t be able to read more than one word per line…

5. Are groups inherently stupider than individuals? A lot of bad decisions are made by collectives. I think they may just feel no need to think for themselves when in group situations and so just agree with the person/idiot with the loudest voice? I mean insects work like that as well… Big groups that just are clones to support the leader, right?
Geez should we be worried that humans are copying insects and not seeing a problem with it? I mean humans have nuclear weapons, an ant has the ability to ruin a picnic….

6. Why do people say that past psychology theories are completely wrong? They were correct at the time. People’s minds/thoughts change with social/society changes. Basic fact of human nature. It also is very culture based. E.g. if you live in a war torn country vs suburbia you may have slight differences in what you consider normal thoughts or feelings (fyi really hard to convey sarcasm through writing)

7. Should we be concerned that America allowed Donald Trump, not only one chance but they actually elected him twice? It is really scary. I feel really sorry for the people who were patriots, have they got special support groups for those people who used to be so proud of their great country and now, well, have the whole world laughing at them?
I am genuinely concerned for them. He’s basically the equivalent of pooping your pants in the middle of a school assembly speech kind of embarrassing.

8. Why is pride a deadly sin? If it’s such a bad thing, why do they keep telling kids to take pride in their work? Do these people who believe it’s a sin want to secretly condemn these poor children to hell? Seems kind of mean…

9. While on religion, why do they put a big figure of Jesus on a cross and place it to be worshiped at the front of the church? One of the commandments is specifically against that… “You shall not make any idols to worship.”
It did not say, “unless it is Jesus”?

10. Why did we allow idiots on the internet? It appears to be like allowing drunk people into the library… They technically know what a book is, but unfortunately use it in the wrong way.
11. I’m pretty sure it’s why AI has been failing so much. See it was based off of a flawed idea as the people who used AI do not have the intelligence or ability to do the things that are needed to make AI work, it is why they are using it. Now AI is looking for the people who actually know how to do the things, but those people don’t need to use the AI systems because they already know these things. So an idiot will write something that the smart person has told them, but they don’t understand and get only a fraction of it correct and post it online… Self fulfilling prophecy of idiots teaching idiots and getting it really wrong.

12. How terrifying would it be to be a bug/insect/arachnid? I mean, seriously. In their world there are these huge giants striding around and you are lucky that you don’t get stepped on or squished if they happen to be in your area and then for some reason as if these giants weren’t terrifying enough, they spray poisons on everything. Then to add insult to it, these giant squishers and poisoners think it is reasonable to act terrified of the bugs instead of the other way around!

Off to find a few more things to ponder…
