Supernatural has to be one of the greatest television shows that I have ever watched! It is amazing! I love horror and this show had some truely amazing storylines. These episodes I found super creepy/scary. Hope you enjoy them too! I threw in some creature and the bad guy by season lists at the end as well… happy watching!

Spookiest Episodes (Most to least):
Supernatural S01E19 Provenance

Episode Description:
Sam and Dean must deal with a dangerous spirit bound to an old family portrait that brings misfortune and death to anyone who buys it.
Why it was scary:
Kids being serial killers is scary. Then make the psycho little girl a ghost as well and you get definite chills. This episode was amazing and is the top fright I got from the show.
Supernatural S02E02 Everybody Loves a Clown

Episode Description:
After the events at the hospital, the brothers have no idea where the demon that killed their mother is hiding. While biding their time trying to come up with an idea, they investigate murders committed by a killer clown.
Why it was scary:
Clowns are creepy. This one adds to it by also being a monster. I totally relate to Sam being scared of the clown. This one is terrifying as it needs the kid to let it inside. Gave me instant creepy vibes.
Supernatural S04E11 Family Remains

Episode Description:
Sam and Dean try to prevent a family from moving into a haunted house. When the family refuses to listen, the trouble really starts.
Why it was scary:
When you find out they are human and how sick the reasons they were held captive in the house, well it made me nauseous. How can a human look way scarier than a monster lol!?! Respect given to the make-up artist!
Supernatural S01E05 Bloody Mary

Episode Description:
A man dies of a stroke in front of a mirror but Sam and Dean believe something, or someone else may be behind his death. Also, Dean tries to help Sam open up about his girlfriend’s death, particularly after Sam lets it slip that there’s some information that he hasn’t told Dean.
Why it was scary:
Mirrors have always been frightening to me (mostly just by how I look in the morning lol). But mirrors always show the world in reverse and we accept that it can show us what we cannot see with our own eyes. This gives us fear as it’s an unknown. When she comes out of the mirror, I was scared. They did the scene very well and it gave me a fright.
Supernatural S01E18 Something Wicked

Episode Description:
Dean gets a second chance to right a wrong from his past when the brothers get a mysterious tip from their father about a case they’d worked years ago, but left unfinished after Sam was nearly killed by the creature.
Why it was scary:
Shadows are another frightening thing. It’s mainly because when our mind see’s shapes in the dark, our frontal lobe trying to make sense of them will make the shapes resemble something we know, without realising that it’s pretty terrifying seeing a person watching you sleep! Anyway the hand unlatching the window and watching the shadow was a terrifying moment.
Supernatural S01E10 Asylum

Episode Description:
While searching for lost college students within an abandoned sanitarium, tortured spirits from the building’s past begin to haunt Dean and Sam, turning brother against brother.
Why it was scary:
Ghost infested asylum where the Doctor was crazy and experimented on patients… may be a horror cliche but I liked it.
Supernatural S02E11 Playthings

Episode Description:
Sam and Dean investigate a town where several people have mysteriously died. The trail leads to a young girl who lives at an inn with her mother, and whose imaginary friend may be responsible for the deaths.
Why it was scary:
Little kids obviously scare me from this list, but what I find very unnerving is when a child acts like an adult and has psychopathic tendencies. Plus another ghost, so lets just say I’m scared of creepy little kid ghosts that kill…
Supernatural S02E19 Folsom Prison Blues

Episode Description:
Sam and Dean investigate rumours that a ghost is killing off inmates in a local prison by allowing themselves to get thrown behind bars. However, when an FBI agent shows up to take over their case, the brothers find getting back out of prison more difficult than they anticipated.
Why it was scary:
That nurse is angry and scary looking! The worst part is there is little defense against her in a prison.
Supernatural S05E09 The Real Ghostbusters

Episode Description:
A fan tricks Dean and Sam into attending a “Supernatural” fan convention.
Why it was scary:
Again, creepy kid ghosts! This episode is more sweet than scary, but damn did those kids give me a fright!
Supernatural S06E14 Mannequin 3: The Reckoning

Episode Description:
When Ben calls Dean and tells him that Lisa is in trouble, Dean leaves Sam to investigate a case alone and rushes to the rescue. However, he’s not prepared for what meets him at the door. Meanwhile, Sam discovers the men that were murdered were all a part of a cruel practical joke played on a female co-worker who went missing.
Why it was scary:
How is a mannequin not scary? Then coming to life and killing people only adds to the general creepyness of them! I’m reminded of that scene in 825 Forest Road where the mannequin is moving behind her and I was screaming at the screen for her to run lol. Not as scary as that but the fright is there.
Supernatural S15E16 Drag Me Away

Episode Description:
In this episode, Sam and Dean investigate a murder in Ohio that leads them to confront a witch (Baba Yaga) they failed to fully kill during their childhood, forcing them to destroy her source of power.
Why it was scary:
Okay, I know I’ve made my points of views clear about homocidal children, but I also don’t like when monsters or in this case an ancient witch decides to eat them! The witches name is Baba Yaga from Slavic folklore. I find witches eating children to be a bit too scary for me, no matter how old the fairy tales are.
Supernatural S03 E13 Ghostfacers

Episode Description:
When Sam and Dean investigate a haunted mansion, they run into two old faces and become unwitting participants in a new ghost-based reality show. However, as events in the house turn nasty, the investigations turns into a battle for survival.
Why it was scary:
I just really felt creeped out by the lonely guy who threw himself a birthday party in the basement with dead party guests…The funny ghostfacers did take the scare away because of the comedy, but the story was pretty creep out worthy.
